Summer Opportunities
Minnesota Institute for Talented Youth (MITY) is offering over 100 unique classes in STEM, humanities, and the fine arts, all taught by experienced educators through their program called our Expand Your Mind (EYM) for current 8-11 graders. Small class sizes, field trips and a focus on experiential learning empowers students to pursue their passions with peers from around the world who share their interests. Scrubs Camp
Jumpstart a career in nursing, microbiology, athletic training or another area of healthcare. Learn about a growing field, make new friends and experience college life at a four-day camp for students entering grades 9-12 Fall 2024.
The majority of the camp’s courses are held on campus at Minnesota State University Moorhead. This program is co-sponsored by Essentia Health and Minnesota State Community and Technical College.

Herdina Academy for Construction Trades
This is a two-week experience for young people ages 15+ to learn through hands-on tasks related to the construction industry.
This year’s camp runs from June 3-7 and June 10-14. Students aged 15+ are eligible to attend the camp. Camp starts at 8:00am each morning and is typically done around 4:00pm. Camp will mainly be at the M-State Moorhead campus this year.
Students are able to apply for three college credits and have scholarship opportunities.

ND Boys State - June 9-14, 2024
North Dakota State College of Science Wahpeton campus.
North Dakota Boys State is where young men become leaders and leaders develop even greater potential. Through a learn-by-doing government simulation, attendees run for office, form their own state government, and assume the roles of disaster managers, legislators, and serve as the voice of North Dakota’s youth. North Dakota Boys State alumni include state leaders in business, law, medicine, former and current Members of Congress, not to mention former governor and United States Senator John Hoeven, former Governor and United States Agriculture Secretary Ed Schafer, and legendary championship Chicago Bulls and L.A. ND Girls State - June 9-14, 2024

Many 17-year-olds would say that learning about government is dull and boring; past participants would tell you that ALA Girls State is one place that learning about government is anything but boring. Here’s why: Instead of sitting through lengthy lectures “citizen” learn about city, county and state government by actually running for offices, holding elections, writing ordinances/laws, and various other activities. Citizens don’t just hear about the government process- they are the process. For more information click here

The Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation (TRMF) offers a wide variety of jobs in a friendly and diverse work environment.
- Internships: TRMF is excited to offer paid internships – and summer work – in several areas including: theatre, equine sciences, hospitality, accounting, marketing, non-profit management, culinary, golf management, and more.
- Scholarships: Each year approximately 25 scholarships (ranging from $1,000 to $1,500) are awarded to seasonal employees who have demonstrated outstanding work qualities, leadership and good character.

North Dakota Governor’s School
North Dakota Governor's Schools is a six-week residential program for scholastically motivated North Dakota high school sophomores and juniors. Students live, work, and have fun on NDSU's campus. Governor's Schools academic programs offer high-quality, concentrated instruction from NDSU faculty through classroom experiences, discussion groups, labs, field trips, and other activities. North Dakota Leadership Seminar (NDLS) May 31-June 2, 2024

West Fargo Police Safety Cadet Unit
The West Fargo Police Safety Cadet Unit is a unique career exploration program for young men and women ages 14 to 20. The program provides educational training for young adults on the purposes, mission and objectives of law enforcement. The program provides career orientation experiences, leadership opportunities and community service activities. The primary goals of the program is to help young adults choose a career path within law enforcement and to challenge them to become responsible citizens of their communities and the nation.

Drone Pilot Ground School and Scholarship Opportunity
Available to students age 16 and older - this is an opportunity to learn how to fly a drone commercially! Any student can go online to Drone Pilot Ground School and take an in-depth test prep course for the FAA's certification exam to be a commercial drone pilot. Students can also apply for the scholarship, which will waive the $299 test prep fee! Also, the first 100 scholarship recipients will receive the FAA exam for free - usual cost of $150.
